The Synopsis.
The Beginning;
Joe disillusioned with the way the world is shaping up has the two 'basic' instincts on his mind, 'Flight' or 'Fight'. he decides to try 'something better', to create a 'buffer' against the present society.
In some way's he finds that he has to do 'both', flight 'and' fight.
The story begins with Joe, the founder and his Web page of The Ark sending out his call, then
He floats his idea's on 'The Web'. People begin to apply to join and you are introduced to them through the interviews and their own stories, they sort themselves into a group as each member appears on the scene the dialogue spreads as the different situations unfold.
The story continues with various 'trials' and 'tribulations' as the group learns to live together as their different lifestyles coming together.
Will their ideals stand the test of time and the difficulties that will surely come?
The Ark provides a 'platform' to develop their dreams and aspirations in the community.
It is situated in a quiet part of England.
The Middle.
This consists of how these people affect the community ... and how the community affects them ... 'and' the world 'outside'.
It develops through 'the selection' process, their back-ground stories and their 'new' role. They include;
-
A murderer. Why did Michael, this quiet little man kill a fellow jew?

Lovers. Lionel loved her more than he could say so he did not say.

Money. Bradley did not seem to mind giving his money away, but the others wondered just what he wanted out of it?
-
Abuse. What would you do if your sister was put through hell? Medical abuse may be the 'worst' kind that exists?

Life. Some of lifes tragedies, comedies, successes and failures.

Struggles. for the survival of the ark against authorities and opposing forces. Intruders were getting into the compound, in spite of the Majors security measures.
These will form the back-ground for the main point of the story, (A 'changed' way of life).
Some believe it should be more 'insular' ... some more 'evangelical' ... some want 'weapons' ... some do not.
How would they 'vet' the applicants? ... how would they 'reject' undesirables?
All these points will be dealt with as 'The Ark' continues to sail though troubled waters.
The End
The story progresses, working to make the Ark Community strong and self sufficient with the members beginning to realise the size of the task ahead.
The community take an unexpected course in regards to 'Flight' or 'Fight', they discover that they have to fight to survive. The world just won't let them alone.
The end I have chosen just came upon me naturally, almost unplanned, I guess that the real life story has not really ended. It leaves room for YOU to wonder 'What if?' or how would 'you' do it?
It just 'maybe', that 'your' story is 'waiting to be told?
There will be many 'changes' to come ... but Hey! That's life.
